Vaginal bleaching

The purpose of vaginal bleaching treatments is to lighten dark skin spots or hyperpigmentation in and around the vagina. It is a voluntary cosmetic procedure that is performed for various reasons. On one hand, it can serve to reduce the feeling of embarrassment during intimate intercourse by lightening darker skin areas in the genital region. On the other hand, it can increase a woman's self-confidence who is worried about the appearance of her skin in and around the vagina. Wearing underwear or swimwear can also be more comfortable with it.

Possible causes for vaginal hyperpigmentation can be:

• an overproduction of the hormone melatonin,
• hormonal imbalances,
• infections,
• certain cosmetics,
• malnutrition,
• shaving in the genital area,
• overweight,
• vitamin deficiency,
• tight jeans,
• underwear made from synthetic materials.
